Dissolve conflict and reignite the spark of intimacy
Relationship coaching is for men who want to stop walking on eggshells and start understanding what’s really happening between them and their partner.
What This Work is Really About
You love your partner.
You’ve built a life together.
But lately, it feels like nothing you do is enough.
Conversations turn into arguments. Affection feels distant.
You start to wonder: Is this who we’ve become?
Most men I talk with aren’t looking to leave their relationship — they just don’t know how to make it better. They’ve read books, maybe done therapy, but still can’t shake the feeling that something deeper keeps repeating.
Relationship coaching exists to help you finally understand what’s going on beneath the surface — and learn how to bring your relationship back into balance.
What We’ll Work On Together
1. Clarity (Understanding the Dynamic)
We’ll slow things down so you can see what’s really happening in your relationship — and how both partners’ behaviors (including yours) feed the current pattern.
2. Communication (Breaking the Cycle)
You’ll learn how to communicate without defensiveness, reactivity, or shutdown — and create the emotional safety your partner’s been asking for (even if she doesn’t say it that way).
3. Connection (Rebuilding Trust and Intimacy)
You’ll practice ways of showing up that invite connection instead of conflict — rebuilding emotional and physical closeness without manipulation or performance.
What This Coaching Is (and Isn’t)
This isn’t therapy.
It’s practical, real-world coaching that helps you apply what you may already know — but haven’t been able to do.
Each session focuses on what’s happening right now in your relationship and you’ll leave every call with insight, language, and tools you can use that same week.
Who This Is For
Men who feel like they’re always the one getting it wrong
Men whose partners say they’re “emotionally unavailable” — and they want to understand what that means
Men who’ve tried therapy but need something more actionable
Men who don’t want to lose their relationship, but don’t know how to fix it
If you’re willing to take an honest look at yourself and learn what creates safety and connection for both of you — this work can change everything.
How It Works
We’ll start with a free 30-minute discovery call.
You’ll share what’s happening in your relationship, I’ll share how I work, and together we’ll decide if coaching is the right fit.
If we move forward, we’ll meet weekly or bi-weekly for private one-on-one sessions (usually 3–6 months).
All sessions are confidential and focused on helping you move from confusion to clarity, and from conflict to connection.

About James Traub
I’m a Certified Divorce Coach® and Men’s Relational Leadership Coach based in Charlotte, NC.
For over three years I’ve been helping men navigate the space between frustration and transformation — that moment when they realize they can’t control her, but they can change how they show up.
My coaching draws on the same principles that I teach in The Men’s Roundtable — ideas rooted in healthy masculinity, emotional intelligence, and relational depth. These frameworks give men a clear, practical path for creating more connection and less conflict at home.
This isn’t about blame. It’s about awareness, skill, and a new way of relating.
Frequently Asked Questions
Here are a few of the most common questions men ask before getting started.
-
Coaching is month-to-month — no contract, cancel anytime. Most men find that 3–6 months gives them enough time to understand the patterns, apply new tools, and experience meaningful change at home. You can continue as long as the work feels valuable.
-
No. This is individual work focused on how you show up. When one person communicates differently and stays grounded, the dynamic often starts to shift — even if your partner isn’t consciously involved.
-
This work complements therapy. Coaching gives you practical tools and support between sessions so you can apply what you’re learning in real time and show up more open and intentional.
-
That’s okay. You can still learn to communicate effectively, set healthy boundaries, and find peace in your own leadership. Often, when a man changes how he shows up, the relationship changes too.
-
Therapy often explores the why behind your patterns. Coaching focuses on the how — how to respond instead of react, how to communicate without defensiveness, how to lead yourself toward more connection and less conflict.
