Are you ready to take your relationship to the next level?

  • The quality of a man’s life is determined by the quality of his relationships.

  • ‘Waiting’ for relationships to improve rarely works.

  • It is your masculine responsibility to set the direction of growth in your relationships.

  • The fear that holds you back from speaking your truth in relationship is also holding you back in other areas of your life.

  • There is a simple process for improving relationships (it’s not rocket science!)

  • Anyone can do this—improving relationships requires skill and practice, not talent.

“Your masculine gift is to know where you are, where you want to be, and what you need to do to get there. If you don’t know one of these, then you need to discover it by any means necessary. This vision is, essentially, the basic gift you have to offer your woman, as well as the world. If you have no higher vision than the day-to-day grind of housework, job, childcare, TV, and vacations, you are failing your birthright. Your woman will feel cheated and ungifted by you, as will the world. And both will give you less of their gifts in return.”

- David Deida (The Way of the Superior Man)

I’m interested, tell me more…

  • The Art of Opening Up is a 9-week adventure into the world of relationships.

    1. You’ll begin by examining yourself and getting crystal clear on what it is you’re feeling, needing, and wanting in your relationship, be it personal or professional.

    2. Then, you’ll learn the skills and language you need to be able to speak openly and honestly (and without fear) about the changes you’d like to see in the relationship.

    3. Finally, I’ll show you how you can approach these ‘difficult’ conversations in a way that avoids triggering defensiveness, arguments, hard feelings, and tears (and instead creates opportunities for connection and deeper collaboration).

By the end of this program you will have learned how to take the lead in setting the direction of growth in your relationships and will feel confident in your ability to speak your truth, even when it’s difficult.

  • The Art of Opening Up is a 9-week coaching program. During that time you will receive:

    • 90 minutes of weekly coaching. Typically I will meet with clients once per week, however if you desire to meet more frequently we can meet twice per week for 45 minutes. Standard meeting format is Zoom, however if you’re located in the Triad area we can also meet in-person.

    • Text and video message support between sessions. Telegram is a messaging app that allows us to exchange text, voice, and video messages and I highly encourage clients to stay in touch between sessions. Whether you have a question, need a quick pep-talk, or want to share an update with me, using this tool will allow you to maximize the value of your investment by getting advice and coaching support 7 days a week.

    • Access to educational resources. You will receive immediate access to my worksheets, assessments, and video trainings to help you grow in self-awareness and gain the skills needed to improve the quality of your relationships.

  • Therapy often involves going back in time to revisit your past and understand how it’s impacting your ability to show up the way you want to in the present (i.e., anxiety, depression, disordered eating, emotional reactivity, insecurities, harmful coping behaviors, etc.)

To this end, therapy can be tremendously helpful for getting you back on your feet and more able to engage with the challenges and responsibilities of life, and I’ve personally had great experiences with individual and couples therapy.

Coaching, on the other hand, is about taking you from where you are today to where you want to go. Life coaching, in particular, is about helping you make changes that will enhance the quality of your lived experience and move you in the direction of greater physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing.

During coaching we may occasionally revisit your past, however we do so only for the purposes of better understanding your values, needs, desires, and the structures that most effectively support your success.

  • Nobody needs coaching.

It’s something you have to want.

Think of coaching as a ‘desired push’ to help you get from Point A to Point B.

And it works best when you’re clear on the change you’d like to see in your life:

    • I’m sick of trading my time for money and am ready to figure out what living a life of purpose looks like

    • I’m tired of feeling depleted and uninspired when I wake up in the morning and want to bring fun and adventure back into my life

    • I’ve been a workaholic for years and need to find ways to prioritize my health (or my relationship) before something bad happens

    • My relationship isn’t satisfying or exciting anymore and I want to find ways to enhance our connection and intimacy

    • I hate my career and want to do something else, but am scared to make a change

However, being clear on what you want isn’t the same as feeling confident in your ability to make it happen.

Which is where coaching comes in.

Big changes can be exciting to think about, but that excitement is often no match for the worry, doubt, challenge, and judgement that often accompany doing something different. And without the proper support, your best laid plans often to remain just that…plans.

Coaching will help you navigate all of this (and more!)

  • The cost of The Art of Opening Up is $3,000.

If you are not completely satisfied with your coaching experience (or do not get the results you were hoping for in your relationship), I will provide a full refund of your purchase price.

  • There are reasons that you haven’t been speaking up in your relationships.

There are reasons you’ve been ‘waiting’ for things to improve, instead of taking the lead and creating the improvements you desire.

The fears that are holding you back in your relationships are also holding you back in all other areas of your life.

We are going to explore this stuff.

I’m going to help you to see how what you’ve been thinking, saying, and doing up to this point has created the results you have in your life.

And I’m going to invite you to consider new ways of thinking, speaking, and acting.

This work is challenging. It is uncomfortable. And most men will never do it.

Yet, it is also tremendously rewarding and is a critical component to unlocking your potential and achieving the success you’ve been dreaming of.

If spending several thousand dollars on a coach to help you improve your relationships fills you with a mix of excitement and nausea, that’s good.

That’s what living life at your edge should feel like—and it’s time to get comfortable with that feeling.

Schedule a Discovery Call with James

Maybe you follow me on social, read my newsletter, or have attended one of my workshops, but let’s be honest—you have no idea what it would be like to work with me.

That’s what a Discovery Call is for: to give you an experience of coaching and help you determine whether you want to work with me.

There is no obligation, no catch, and no hard sell at the end.

My goal with every Discovery Call is simply to show you—through actual coaching—how transformative working with a coach can be.

And then it’s up to you to decide whether this feels right and is what you want right now.

When you’re ready to talk, use the tool below to schedule your Discovery Call.

“James offered to do a free initial consult with me and I was amazed with what we accomplished. I signed up for a five-session package and was blown away with each session, especially our last one which tied everything together and delivered a huge aha moment.”
